Fuvamulah is one of the best shark diving locations on our planet. Its unique underwater topography, pristine reefs and isolated position make it the perfect shark storm with over seven shark species regularly encountered. The island is famous for its resident Tigers, up to 25 tigers can be seen on one dive on the daily Tiger shark feed. If this wasnt enough Fuvamulah also has multiple Thresher Shark cleaning stations and these incredible sharks are also year round residents. Just offshore on the plateau reef system divers regularly encounter schooling Scalloped Hammerheads, Grey Reef Whalers, Oceanic White Tips, Silver Tips and also the Whale Sharks- the largest fish in the Ocean. The fringing reefs host abundant corals and fish species, and as well as the sharks large pelagics like Dogtooth Tuna, Sailfish, Wahoo and Marlin are seen on many dives.
We include 3 dives per day over six days, the tiger feed is a daily dive then we can choose to look for Threshers , Hammers on the Plateau, Wall drift dive, Oceanic white tips in the blue… Tough decisions 🙂
We offer daily afternoon yoga classes with Kristina to relax and unwind. During the week Scott offers Freedive and underwater photography workshops to help improve your water skills.
Dive seasons and weather
The atoll’s proximity to the equator means that the monsoons are less pronounced compared to further north in the Maldives and the weather is pretty stable all year round. The dry north-east monsoon usually runs from December to March and the wet south-west monsoon from May to November. Water temperatures are warm and comfortable, very rarely dropping below 26 – 27C so unless you feel the cold, a 3mm wetsuit is fine.
The Accomodation
The private and secure guest house has a restaurant, outdoor swimming pool, a lounge, garden and free WiFi. We have options for twin share or a king bedroom (2 pax/bedroom). All rooms include air conditioning, a private bathroom, bed linen, towels and a patio with pool view and a safety deposit box. 3 daily meals prepared by a local chef
How to get to Fuvahmulah
All international flights to the Maldives use Malé’s International Airport and Fuvahmulah is 1hour 10 min by plane from Male Airport. If you have a late flight arrival or if you arrive early, there are a number of accommodation options in Malé itself. We will organise return transfers from Male to the island at no extra cost.
