Location Details

Our tour departs from the Fingal Head Boat Ramp just 10 minutes from Coolangatta and the Gold Coast airport. Drive in and look for the Blue Seafaris flag. Click the button below for more detailed information on location and boarding.

The Experience


In a small group with a maximum of eight people we will spend 3-4 hours offshore with the Humpback whales. There are over 35,000 Humpbacks on Australia's East coast so sightings are guaranteed although the whales decide if they want to swim with us. Our skipper is highly experienced swimming with whales around the World and is very familiar with identifying happy and curious whale behaviour. Our group size is kept to a minimum of just eight swimmers to increase the chances of a unique and special encounter. Despite their size humpbacks can be shy and large groups of people in the water are definitely not ideal for a good whale interaction.

To keep you warm we have 5mm freedive suits with hoods and quality masks and fins. Our boat is a fast and comfortable Rigid Inflatable as used by military and police due to their safety and stability. We have individual seats and all safety equipment on board.


Humpbacks are a very gentle and curious whale and will often approach our boat to say hello.

We provide a high-quality mask, set of fins and a wetsuit.


The tour begins along the Tweed River, we often encounter sea birds, local dolphins and other marine life on the way to the island. Humpback whales are a daily sight from June to November.


AFTER THE BOOKING

You will receive a confirmation email detailing where to go, what to bring and it will also include a liability waiver.


It is mandatory that you complete this liability waiver for all participants BEFORE you arrive.


If conditions change we will notify you of any rescheduling by email and SMS. Please ensure you enter your mobile to the booking form.


It is your responsibility to check your messages for any changes to the scheduled departure.

We had so many opportunities to get into the water because Scott and his wife were so good at spotting the whales and how to get the most out of it for us. You will have received a liability waiver form in the booking confirmation email. Every participant is required to complete the waiver. Parents can sign for their children. If you did not receive a pre-arrival waiver email, please click the button below to complete your "Waiver". You will be asked a series of important questions and will be required to electronically sign the waiver, with legal guardians signing for children. This is mandatory before boarding our vessel, as is the safety briefing prior to departure.
